Dara Torres: Pure Speed

Posted: November 17th, 2007 | Author: Catherine | Filed under: Uncategorized |

There are sports performances that you just want to believe. It is one of the attraction of sports. Ever so often, an individual comes along to show that the impossible is indeed possible. Michael Jordan came along and defied gravity. Tiger Woods came along and showed that the little white ball can be ‘mastered’ more often than we ever imagined. Wayne Gretzsky mesmerized fans by having an uncanny expectation of appearing where the puck was going to be. These are examples of the phenomena of sports.

It enchants; and we want to be captured by the majesty of the performance.

And we want to believe in the phenomenal performances of Dara Torres:

“…The 40-year-old Torres finished in 23.82 to better the U.S. record for the second time within hours, with Alshammar third at 24.05.

“I can’t believe my record,” Veldhuis said of snapping a mark that had stood for seven years. “But Dara Torres shocked me in the heats—I wanted to keep up.”

Torres had clocked a 23.87 in her heat for her first American record at the event, bettering the 24.21 Kara Lynn Joyce swam on March 18, 2004.”

Ms Torres is competing, at forty years old. In the sport of swimming, anyone who is over twenty years of age is considered old and nearing the completion of a competitive swimming career. Some of Ms Torres’ competitors are less than half her age. Ms Torres has been an Olympian, many times. She has been a record holder; and now she is back.

Tests for drugs and chemically enhanced performance have been negative. Ms Torres knows that there are suspicions that her present performances are chemically assisted. She is testing to prove that she is indeed ‘clean’. Whether it is genetics, training, hard work, innate ability or a combination of those and other factors, we want to believe in her athletic abilities. It redefines what is possible at forty years of age. It defies and redefines our present concepts.

We want Dara Torres to have ‘pure speed’.

Dara Torres is a serious cheater. Sooner or later the BS will stop, the truth will come out and she will go bye the way of Marion Jones. To believe Dara is clean is to pay a million dollars for the Brooklyn Bridge….
    Dara Clean? What a joke!

Dara is not a cheater. I am 46 years old and am in the best shape of my life. I was also a swimmer, weight lifter and sprinter (runner) and to to this day I have people come up to me and say what an incredible body I have. I also have people ask me whether I am on HGH or not!!!! I have never taken a drug in my life. It is absolutely possible to do what Dara Torres has done. All you need is great genetics. She has what it takes. She works hard. And, luckily for her, she has financial backing with Toyota and Speedo. I often wonder where I would be today if I had been as serious as Dara. GO DARA! YOU ARE MY HERO! YOU ARE WHAT I WISH I HAD BEEN!

All of the East German swimmers passed the drug tests. The Balco scandal proved that there are designer drugs that the drug testers don’t even know how to look for or even what they are looking for. The cheaters are so far ahead of testing they can’t be caught. The networks and advertisers don’t want them caught because world records and human interest stories like Dora are good for ratings. It does not matter if Dora is clean or not. The bigger picture is that sports are permanently tainted by drugs, and there is no going back.

She is a serious cheater and she should have blood tests done to test for HGH and even submit to the new test which can 100% detect HGH in urine. This new test will bring all the cheaters to light, Torres most definitely included. It’s bullshit

Dara Torres is the talk of the sports, fitness, health, and anti-aging world. Check out this interesting video that takes viewers back to the very moment the world first learned how Torres has been defying aging for the past 8 years. This is not a commercial or an ad. It’s a very revealing news story.
