Dell is trying to appeal to the fashion conscious. - Would you like a pink laptop?

The marketing people at Dell must know that colors run a ‘trend cycle’ too. What was the color in one fashion cycle may be totally ‘out’ for the next season. Perhaps Dell will figure a way to modify the colors, from season to season, so that the fashion statement does not lose its impact.

On the other hand, perhaps Dell should remember that what made them a success was fair value and customer service. It was what was “under the hood” and not a color fashion statement.
