Mr. Obama, I respectfully suggest the consideration of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg as your selection for Vice President.

Initially, some will recoil from this suggestion. She is not a politician and never has run for elected office. Is that a drawback? At this critical point in the new century, does the country need another politician? Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg may not have run for political office but she is no stranger to politics. It is in her DNA, literally and figuratively. She did not refrain from this recent nomination process. She became involved and endorse you because she realizes that the nation is at a critical juncture.

Americans who lived through the Kennedy years love her. She is the quintessential ‘American daughter’. You have in Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg an immediate appeal to the older demographic and to the women’s vote. You also have her appeal to the younger generation. As you know from her endorsement of you, her reach crosses many, and perhaps all, social lines.

Her credentials are impeccable. She is a lawyer and a writer. Her educational background includes Harvard University and Columbia University. Her books have included scholarly works. There is no doubt that she would be a candidate who is easy to vet. The American people would have no difficulty accepting her. She has never left. Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg has remained on the periphery of the American consciousness since she was a child.

Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is instant name recognition. Her selection as your candidate for Vice President will negate much of the attack politics about your choice for a running mate. The Republicans would not run a campaign of negative politics about her. They know that the American people would find it distasteful and the number of angry voters would be legion.

Mr. Obama, you talk of change. This nomination would speak to the change. Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg has no ambition for political office. Hopefully, to paraphrase her father’s words, she will answer a call to serve and to do what she can for her country. The American people would know that her actions and decisions would not be with special interest groups in mind. It would not be for her own political gain or self-aggrandizement. Her focus would be on the people and her country. And isn’t that what you want and what the American people want?

Ask her, Mr. Obama. - Yes, you can. - Perhaps she will consider four years.

Ana Ivanovic: Number One and A Championship

Ana Ivanovic won the 2008 French Open. She was brilliant. There were so remarkable saves. What was noticeable was her composure. When she ran into a lull in her game, she was able to gather herself and not let missed points overwhelm her game:

“…A shaky Ivanovic played in her first major final a year ago at Roland Garros and won only three games from Justine Henin. But against Safina she was as cool as the 65-degree weather, showing hardly a bead of perspiration even after sprinting corner to corner to retrieve shots.”

At this high level of competition, often improvements are in small increments. For Ana Ivanovic, it has been significant leaps. She is now a champion of a Grand Slam Open and she sits atop the women’s tennis world. Ana Ivanovic claims the Number One ranking. Kudos to Ms Ivanovic.

Casino Drive Will Not Run at the Belmont Stakes

One of Big Brown’s main rivals at the Belmont Stakes will not run. Casino Drive has been pulled from the small list of entrants. Casino Drive has a reported stone bruise on the hind left hoof:

“…”This morning, he was feeling well, so we took him to the track for a canter,” Nobutaka Tada, spokesperson for owner Hidetoshi Yamamoto and trainer Kazuo Fujisawa, told reporters.

“He came back well to the stable, but later he started favoring his left-hind again.”

This increases the chances of Big Brown’s possible Triple Crown. The Belmont Stakes, however, is a long race and it is a race that has thwarted other Triple Crown hopefuls. Nevertheless, this could be a historic moment for Big Brown. His hoof problem has been resolved and he has a great chance of claiming this third jewel in the crown.

American Airlines Targeted in Phishing Attack

American Airlines has issued a security warning against a phishing attack:

“American Airlines has warned members of its AAdvantage frequent flier program of a pfishing (sic) scheme that uses a bogus AAdvantage Web site to reap personal financial information, which can be used in identity theft and other financial fraud.”

In these times of rapid regulation changes in the airline industry, the travel public may see this survey scheme as being a legitimate consumer poll. The hackers and phishers are clever. They are stellar at manipulation. They try to take advantage of current news issues and recent tragedies, natural or man made. This airline survey ploy is an attempt at identity theft. Don’t be fooled…
