The prognosis for Andrew Bynum is highly positive. It seems that the knee surgery he had performed on his injury was successful:

“…”In three months, he should be 100 percent and ready to play,” said Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who was briefed on the surgery by athletic trainer Gary Vitti and general manager Mitch Kupchak.”

One forgets just how young Andrew Bynum is. He is only twenty years old - a Lakers’ selection in the 2005 draft. - Prior to this season, the thing that most people remembered about the young Lakers center was his tussle with Shaquille O’Neal.

It showed that Andrew Bynum was competitive. He would not shy away from being physical. And, if he was ready to challenge Shaquille O’Neal in this manner, perhaps young Andrew Bynum had great faith in the Lakers medical plan.
