Microsoft has not finished with Yahoo yet. On Sunday, Microsoft made its intentions known again and offered Yahoo an alternative:
“…”Microsoft is considering and has raised with Yahoo an alternative that would involve a transaction with Yahoo but not an acquisition of all of Yahoo,” the company said in a statement without clarifying what that alternative might be.”
It is not a coincidence that this offer is made on a Sunday. The mergers and acquisitions people at Microsoft are following text book procedures. Making this offer on a Sunday creates relentless pressure on Yahoo. Further, this will be the lead story on most media worldwide. The offer will have maximum exposure in the media on Monday. Microsoft wants to have every Yahoo shareholder know that there is still another chance. And that means more pressure for Jerry Yang and the Yahoo board of directors.

Andrew Bynum is the young Lakers center who showed so much promise in the early part of the current NBA season. He was hurt on January 13, 2008 and there has been speculation about when he would be back on the basketball court. Today, it was announced that Andrew Bynum will have arthroscopic surgery:
“…The Lakers made the announcement Sunday, saying Dr. David Altchek will perform the procedure in New York on Wednesday — the same day Bynum’s team entertains San Antonio or New Orleans to begin the Western Conference finals.
An estimated timetable for Bynum’s return will be provided following the surgery.”
Andrew Bynum is just twenty years old. He is in his third year as a professional basketball player and showing promise of developing into a good - perhaps great - center. Now Lakers fans are hoping that young Andrew Bynum will be ready for training camp in the fall of 2008.

Big Brown made the win look easy. He made the Preakness win a run-away. In the video, he is the ’seven horse’ and, coming around the last turn, he is allowed to stretch out and really run. The race is remarkable for this horse. He ran on the outside around the clubhouse turn. Even though Big Brown ran a longer distance on the outside, when the jockey, Kent Desormeaux, asked the horse for more run, the rest of the field was left behind. It seems that throughout the race, Big Brown was held back and made to wait. He just had so much left in the home stretch. Watch when Kent Desormeaux lets him run at the top of the home stretch:
Big Brown has a chance at history and the Triple Crown on June 7, 2008. It’s the Belmont and he will be the horse to beat.
